Pregnancy and bowel issues
Pregnancy and bowel issues: Such issues are common in pregnancy both due to hormonal changes and anxiety. Pregnant women may have constipation or diarrhea. Sometimes both the conditions may coexist. Hemorrhoids are also common during the pregnancy.
Drinking plenty of water and increasing dietary fiber intake is one way to regulate bowel movement in pregnancy.
Another way is using squatting stool. Squatting stool can be used during the first half of the pregnancy. Moreover, bowel issues are more common during the first trimester. During last trimester one may not use squatting stool.
In last trimester, bowel issues are better treated in consultation with a doctor.
